This is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition

We have already reported on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim or Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. Okay, the Honor Magic V3 is a very thin folding phone in book format, which the GO2mobile editorial team has already received for a detailed test. And the frequently cited Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, which Android Headlines are now calling the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, doesn't seem to be any thinner than the Honor flagship either!

Before we get into the details, however, we want to make sure you're up to speed: The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is expected to be a slimmer version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Previously known as the “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim,” the foldable model stands out primarily for its thin profile.

We take a first look at Samsung's latest foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. At first glance, it looks very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but if you look closely, you'll immediately notice that it's significantly thinner. The foldable smartphone retains its flat frame, while the rounded corners continue to ensure a pleasant feel in the hand. On the back, you'll again find a camera island with three cameras, which is in the same position as the previous model.

The camera array is different from its original!

Another detail that catches the eye is the centered hole for the front camera in the cover display. This display, like the back of the phone, is flat. The hinge remains invisible when the device is opened, which gives the design an elegant touch.

The back of the special edition has a brushed metal look, which gives the device a high-quality appearance. It is still unclear whether it is actually glass with a special coating or whether it is another type of material. It also remains to be seen whether there will be multiple color variants.

As with previous models, the standby and power button also serves as a fingerprint scanner and is located on the right side of the phone. Directly above it is the volume rocker, as is usual with Samsung devices.

What else do we know about the device? According to information from reliable tipster Evan Blass, the next Samsung foldable will have a thickness of 10.6 millimeters when folded and an impressive 4.9 millimeters when unfolded. The Honor Magic V3 comes in at 9.2 and 4.35 millimeters respectively.

On the back, we can expect a 200-megapixel main camera that will certainly provide outstanding shots. There is also some information about the displays: the main display measures 8 inches, while the cover display has a diagonal of 6.5 inches, which makes both slightly larger than those of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Price and availability of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition

One interesting detail we should mention is the expected availability and price of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It is rumored that the device will have a limited release and may be exclusive to China and South Korea. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet, so we will have to wait for more information.

When exactly the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will be presented remains a mystery. However, Samsung is expected to announce the release later this year. We are also in the dark about the price. The price certainly depends on the processor installed. If the features are identical to the current model, we can expect a price of over 2,000 euros.
