In brief

  • A visible render image of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has been posted online.
  • This gives us a first look at Samsung's new foldable phone ahead of its upcoming release.

Android Headlines posted a render of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition showing the unfolded device from the back. Check it out below.

The image shows a foldable phone that appears to be visibly thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The triple rear camera housing is thicker than the Fold 6's camera bump, which wouldn't be a surprise given the overall thinner design. Otherwise, the foldable phone has the same squared-off corners and flat edges as the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The rendering also shows that the back of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition looks like brushed metal. There is no information yet about other finishes and color options.

Samsung's new foldable device is said to offer an 8-inch folding screen and a 6.5-inch smartphone display, which would be an increase from the 7.6-inch folding screen and 6.3-inch cover display of the Z Fold 6. The phone is also said to offer a 200MP main camera, while there are conflicting claims about S Pen support.

Want to get your hands on the device? Unfortunately, it seems like the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition might be limited to countries like China and Korea.
