Samsung introduces Galaxy Book 5 Pro with Intel Core Lake Lunar

Just three months ago, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Book 4 Edge with Snapdragon X Elite processor. Just in time for IFA 2024 in Berlin and following on from yesterday's Intel presentation, the Korean company is now expanding its portfolio with the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360.

Slim design and large display

Samsung remains true to its slim and lightweight design with the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360. The device measures 12.8 millimeters thick and weighs 1.69 kilograms. Thanks to the 360-degree hinge, it can be used both as a notebook and as a “tablet” – i.e. for writing. The Book 5 Pro 360 is equipped with a 16-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, a maximum brightness of 500 Nits and supports a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. A new feature is the touchpad with adaptive palm recognition, which prevents accidental inputs.

New Intel Lunar Lake processor

Inside is an Intel Core Ultra 200V processor based on the Lunar Lake architecture. These processors offer improved energy efficiency compared to conventional generations, which leads to longer battery life. The processor is supported by 16 or 32 gigabytes of RAM and an SSD with 512 gigabytes or 1 terabyte of storage space. In addition to an integrated Intel ARC GPU, which offers 17 percent improved graphics performance, the device also has a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that accelerates AI-based applications.

Up to 25 hours runtime

A 76 Wh battery provides sufficient energy and allows for up to 25 hours of operation. This can be charged with a 65 watt power supply included in the delivery. On the connection side, there are 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1x USB-A, HDMI 2.1 and a microSD card slot. The device also supports WiFi 7

Numerous AI functions

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 offers a range of software features such as Microsoft Copilot, which provides context-based suggestions for tasks such as writing and document organization. Circle to Search allows you to search for content on the screen directly from Google Search by highlighting it with the S Pen or mouse. Chat Assist makes it easier to compose messages by offering automatic reply suggestions, while Live Translate translates voice and text content in real time.

Available from September 13th

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro will be available in Germany from September 13th in gray and silver. Samsung has not yet officially announced the price of the new notebook. According to our information, pre-orderers will receive a pair of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for free.
