Terrorists planned to kill “tens of thousands of people” at Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna.
The 34-year-old pop singer was forced to cancel three dates of her 'Eras' tour in the Austrian capital earlier this month because of a planned attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium. The three teenagers and a CIA officer arrested by officials have now revealed that US intelligence played a major role in foiling the “fairly advanced” plot.

CIA Deputy Director David Cohen is quoted by ABC News as saying, “They were planning to kill a large number – tens of thousands of people at that concert, including certainly many Americans – and were pretty advanced in doing so. The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the intelligence community and our partners in the intelligence community were giving them information about what this ISIS-affiliated group was up to. I can tell you that there were people in my agency, and certainly others, who thought this was a really good day for Langley. And not just the Swifties on my staff.”

Taylor recently admitted that she felt an “enormous amount of guilt” over the planned attack. In a long statement that she shared on Instagram after her final European dates of the 'Eras' tour in London, she wrote, among other things: “Walking on stage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions. Having our shows in Vienna cancelled was horrific. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear and an enormous amount of guilt because so many people had planned to come to these shows. But I am also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them we are only mourning concerts and not lives.”
